Yesterday
First time doing a part-time job as a waitress(for a wedding dinner). Cus it's my first time, I'm allocated to a "lao niao"(someone who's more experienced). I was allocate to this obasan call Zhao(1) Di(4), and the 2 of us were supposed to serve 4 tables of guests. First thing she ordered me to do was to wipe the plates and glasses, while she was slacking outside the ballroom getting some hot tea for herself(the ballroom was cold, but I somehow still can take it maybe cus I'm too nervous). Luckily before I was grouped with her, Qiao mama(Qiaodan's mama) helped and finished doing 1 table's dishes. Thanks alot~~~!!!
While we were waiting for the guests to arrive and get settled down, and of course for the dinner to start, I have to quickly find Mingxia and Qiao mama cus me and Mingxia were both doing this for the first time and we have lots of stuffs to confirm and recall before the dinner starts. Because that stupid obasan who was supposed to be guiding me keeps wandering off and slacking and I couldn't see her most of the time. And she also told me(in chinese),"If you're not fast enough I will scold you," and I think what she meant was she will embarass me in front of the guests. ): And what went through my mind was: I'm not afraid whether you will embarass me or not, but I know that I will do my best, be responsible and keep my conscience clear.
The tables that Qiao mama, Qiaodan, Qiaodan's biao jie(cousin), Mingxia, and another good auntie, were serving, were at the middle stretch of the ballroom. While I was right at the back. T.T
Finally, the dinner started. She kept nagging that I was too slow, but I couldn't help it cus the dishes were too heavy for me. So I ignored her. We weren't supposed to let the guests' glasses to be empty, so we have to be alert and notice the glasses that were already half-filled and faster refill for them. Only for the red wine and Martell V.S.O.P, we weren't supposed to fill the glasses more than half. Then here comes the nagging and scolding again, "why didn't you fill the guests' glasses, it's already lesser than half...blah blah blah..." She didn't scold me only because of the half-filled orange juice glasses, but also the red wine ones. =.=# Okay, fine, ignore her again, and fill up the glasses.
Once, when I was serving a dish, one of the guests told me to refill his red wine, but only when I'm done serving the dish. Then here comes the ranting of a stupid obasan again, "why didn't you help the guest fill his drink??? blah blah...." First, we are supposed to serve the dishes first and every other requests comes next. Second, I'm not the only person that is in charged of that table, if she has the time to scold me, why didn't she use the time to refill the guest's drink??? =.=## This time even the guests start to dislike her. The mister who requested for the refill told me,"Don't care about her, tell me her name, I go complain to her manager......You no need to be afraid of her......etc." Lolx! That uncle so cute... But I think he's a bit drunk too... Hahax...
All 3 tables of guests knew I was a first-timer due to my lack of strength and clumsy skills, and they knew I'm a teenager from my outlook, so they've been a great help.^^ They were so kind and friendly to me! At that point of time I really feel like hugging and kissing them on their cheeks!!! One of the mothers even said this to me when I was taking the big plate away,"Take a deep deep breath, and gain more strength~~~!" Lolx! She did it with actions! Hahax~!!!!! So cute!!! (One of the tables were empty, so I only need to serve 3 tables, phew...)
And because I'm very slow, by the time I cleared off 2 of their plates into the big plate, the others already put their own plates into it. T,T I'm sooooooooooo grateful to them!!!
While that stupid obasan kept slacking, getting drinks for herself, checking her Totos, and scolding me while she doesn't do the things herself. ):<
Mingxia they all also don't like her. On my way home with Mingxia, we were cursing her like mad!!! Hahax!
Today
Nothing much... Sleep, eat, com-ing... And looking forward to the new job. (:
